Tuesday Funnies!!!

I have a good joke for you all NISSAN WARRANTY!!!!!!

....
.....
......

over a month ago, my car broke down due to a cracked radiator mount ( only had the car for 5 days or so). Roadside assistance towed it to my mechanic where it was assessed and i was advised that it was manufacturing fault and i should be covered under warranty - there was no structural damage anywhere around the radiator to suggest impact damage.

Car was sent to Nissan - nissan came back and said it was impact damage therefore not covered under warranty.
I got an independent assessment done and the results were the same as my mechanic. Spoke to nissan australia - same deal - "our technicians have assessed your car and it was determined to be caused by impact damage blah blah. The reason they gave me was there was structual damage to the bumper which moved backed (600mm) and caused the crack - what a joke. Independent assessor result came to the same conclusion as my mechanic....

Anyway, Warranty was voided. Okay i'll get it fixed myself and put a complaint against them to recoup my money.

Car was ready in a few days to be tested - car wasnt overheating or anything - so engine damage is quite neglibable.

Monday (4 weeks ago) - i get a call from Nissan - we are going to warrant your claim, i told them i've fixed the radiator already blah blah and watever it spitting out of the reserve tank. Oh maybe cause the radiator is non-genuine. OKay i'll bring it it.

Wednesday - yeah we repalced the radiator but looks like your cylinder head is gone, it will be at your expense to take the head off then we can make an assessment on your claim - dreaming mate, im not paying you guys over inflated price.

Thursday - some nice words were made and a promised review. they were suppose to call me back friday, and kept on getting postponed from friday to monday to tuesday.

Wednesday - they decided to honour warranty. they took the head off and sent to engineers

following Tuesday - yes the cylinder head and engine is warped. We have requested to put a new engine in...great...but still need nissan to okay it 2 days later...we have a winner!

engine was suppose to be finished last friday...delayed to monday...delayed to today...and then today...wait for it...theres a crack in the new engine. so another 4 weeks at worst!

What a great relief to have a story about Nissan warranty not screwing somebody around.....haha.

Was it a brand new car or purchased second hand?

At least it sounds like the end result will be what you want, apart from being without a car for a while!! :)
