So, exactly what do you get by being a member?
As a young (new) club, the PCoA has yet to establish our own sponsors, affiliated retailers, etc. However, the committee is working on these issues as you read and our affiliation with the ANFWDC provides access to affiliated member discounts already negotiated by the association.
There are some immediate benefits of joining. These include:
- If new to 4WDing, you get to enter into this fabulous passtime in the company of experienced 4WDers and campers, making your experience less daunting, less risky and more enjoyable.
- If already experienced, you join a group of like-minded people with whom you can share your common interests in 4WD touring and camping, making some new friends and enjoying good company along the way.
- You get to participate in club trips and activities that that have already been planned for you.
- You have access to club equipment (which may be borrowed when not in use). Currently this is limited to a number of spare parts, spare tyres, basic recovery equipment and a selection of 4WD books, maps and videos/DVDs. However, the list is growing and will be added to the Members' Room soon. In the meantime, enquiries may be directed to the Secretary or President.
- You are covered by the club's Public Liability Insurance policy while on club trips and participating in club activities.
- You will have access to a number of 4WD areas and tracks closed (or being closed) to the general 4WDing public. With the escalation of this trend to close tracks, this may well be the 4WD enthusiast's only way to continue to enjoy their favourite pastime, especially in any proximity to the major cities.
- You will receive a PCoA membership card that identifies you as a member of an affiliated club, giving you access to the above benefits and a PCoA sticker. Ordinary (individual and family memberships) will also receive a club stubby holder. As a member you may also purchase and display other club merchandise (cap, car stickers, shirt).
- You have access to your own "member"@pcoa.org.au e-mail address. Contact the President for details.
